Conventional Drive Rod
(D Alloy-Type 78, D Special-Type 75, D Special-Type 90, HS-Type 96, HS-Type 97)
Description
Drive rod is a kind of modified pin sucker rod, specifically designed to withstand the high torque levels experienced in progressive cavity pump applications. Our drive rod is furnished with modified pins to maximize their torque capacity. The main advantage of oilfield drive rod is to provide a minimum 50% increase in torque over conventional API thread connections by modified pins.
Classification
Drive rod has the same classification with sucker rod, but their difference lies in the size of thread. Generally, the diameter of API drive rods includes 1” (25.4mm), 1-1/4” (31.75mm) and 1-1/2” (38.1mm).
Advantages
Drive rod is a kind of special or modified sucker rods used for progressive cavity pump. We can effectively improve torque value of oilfield drive rod by material and machining technology, thus increasing the working efficiency of steel drive rods and extend its service life.

Note
When purchasing drive rod, customers must have a clear understanding of the conditions of wells, and whether the drive rod will be used to connect progressive cavity pump. This will help to select the correct grade and size of drive rods.
