Sucker rod, steel or fiber reinforced plastic rod of standard length and diameter with externally threaded ends, typically used for transmitting mechanical power to the subsurface pump. When choosing sucker rods, customers must have a clear understanding of the working environment of oil wells, such as well’s depth, working temperature, media environment, type of well (deviated or vertical well), size and type of pump, and so on. If customer knows little about oil wells’ conditions, it’s easy to purchase steel sucker rods that aren’t suitable for the oil well. This will adversely affect the service life of sucker rods. For example, if it’s a deviated well, we need to use centralized sucker rods, but for wells in highly corrosive environments, corrosion-resistant sucker rods are required.
